Change is what drives us forward in social justice work, and this summer’s changes at MRG include a new location, new staff roles and faces, and a fond farewell to an amazing staff member.
Goodbye to Annah Sidigu
It’s with much excitement, gratitude, and the best of wishes that we bid goodbye to our Community Engagement Manager, Annah Sidigu, as she leaves MRG to move to Boston. Annah has been with us for four years, leading the Justice Socials and Peace & Pie in the Park celebrations in Eugene and managing volunteers in all manner of tasks to support our grantmaking. Annah has brought great intelligence, political analysis, and insightfulness to all of her work and we will miss her, but we look forward to seeing her thrive in her studies at Berklee School of Music and beyond.
With Annah’s departure, we will be hiring a new Development and Outreach Manager—click here for the job announcement.
New Staff Roles
We’re welcoming Kyle Weismann-Yee to the MRG team as our new Project Assistant, as staff member Marisa Espinoza moves into her new role as our Communications Manager. Kyle joins us with a wealth of experience in organizing with a number of community-based organizations including the Western States Center, the Center for Intercultural Organizing, and the Asian Pacific American Network of Oregon.
As Kyle takes on events, data tracking, and fundraising, Marisa will lead MRG’s visibility on the web, in the media, and in the community to the next level as we shine a brighter light on MRG’s work and our grantees and continue to engage more people across Oregon in social justice philanthropy.
The MRG Office is Moving!
After 10 years at our East Burnside location, MRG’s office is moving to Southeast Portland! Beginning in July, we will be located at 1235 SE Morrison Street, Suite A in the Morrison Plaza building, just east of Southeast 12th Avenue.
Our new office features better wheelchair-accessibility, brighter workspaces, and a larger conference room for our staff and grantees to meet and work together. MRG is excited to show you our new home base, so please mark your calendars for September 13 from 4pm – 7pm when we welcome you to the new location for an office-warming party.
As MRG embarks on new changes this summer, we move towards the bigger changes ahead – building a progressive movement for social justice in Oregon. Your support continues to make this possible!
