I am often asked, “What is the best way to give to MRG?” I have changed my response from the usual “cash, checks, credit cards, stock,” to “freely,” “thoughtfully,” and “joyfully,” allowing people to see giving at its basic level. Giving thoughtfully and with joy can save the world.
In spreading the word about MRG Foundation, I talk with people who feel they can’t possibly give enough to make change happen and people who are capable of helping a project succeed with one check. These conversations affirm no gift is too small or too large. Whether you give a little or a lot, you change the game for an organization working to make Oregon a joyful place for everyone.
MRG, our grantees, and our community are working towards an ambitious goal: racial and social justice in Oregon. All of our efforts are required to create the spaces and places for community change. I give as I can, generously when I am able to, and I ask you to do the same. It is through intentional, concerted effort of individual donors, foundation support, community business partnership, and the rest of our community partners we are able to make real change happen for MRG Foundation and the work of our grantee organizations…many who echo my words “there is no gift too small” to help get the work done.
I thankfully quote a donor, volunteer and long-time MRG supporter, “This work is too important to not support. You need every dollar I can give.” MRG Foundation accepts cash, checks, gifts of stock, IRAs and other financial vehicles. We also have planned giving and Donor-advised Fund programs.
