Thousands of Oregonians with mental health diagnoses are harmed by psychiatric abuse or neglect, and as a result, tend to live in poverty, move through a pipeline of institutions and homelessness, and die an average of 25 years earlier than the general population. MindFreedom Oregon is a grassroots activist movement organizing for more choices, alternatives, self-determination and social justice in mental health care. MFO empowers psychiatric survivors to lead a nonviolent resistance that unites people affected by the mental health system with movements for justice everywhere.
