In response to the current climate of the national Black Lives Matter movement, one defined by the continued murder of Black men, women and children at the hands of police in city after city; the impunity of their actions, and lack of “law enforcement” in response to these heinous crimes. We are in THIS MOVEMENT MOMENT that is led by young Black women and men, in response to the call that #BlackLivesMatter, co-created by three Black queer women, and a galvanizing call to action throughout this country, and around the world.

As Oregon’s leading social justice funder, MRG aims to create a space for healing, learning, and leading. We invite the community to partake in our Critical Community Conversation paneled discussion with community leaders as we discuss safety, justice, and accountability. How do we get there? Who needs to be involved? What does it look like? What is the role of philanthropy and foundation partners in funding and supporting this movement? What can YOU do to help the movement?

This is a place for voices to be heard, stories to be shared, healing to occur, and progress to be made!

Light refreshments will be served!
