MRG Foundations’ signature event is coming up soon on Friday, May 31, 2019 at The Redd in southeast Portland. Join us as we eat, drink, and dance the night away to raise funds for MRG Foundation’s grant-making pool, meaning more dollars toward social justice organizing. This is an event you won’t want to miss — during times like this historical moment in which we find ourselves, we need each other and community more than ever. On this night, we put on our party clothes and celebrate all that is joyful about our communities, reminding us of how far we have come and giving us a clear vision of the world we are working to create.

“I am so excited for this year’s Justice Within Reach event,” says Se-ah-dom Edmo, MRG’s Executive Director. “There are many organizations that do annual dinners, but Justice Within Reach is so much more. It is about building our community and lifting up the stories of our collective actions. Together we are raising money for our grant pool and introducing new people to MRG Foundation. Every ticket includes dinner, dessert, dancing, and more fun than you’ve had in a while. This signature event has grown to something every participant looks forward to! It is an exciting celebration of social justice that highlights the work of MRG Foundation and our grantees throughout the state. This party is an event participants look forward to year after year. It is one of the few movement building spaces in the state where organizers, activists and allies cross issue lines and geography to put on their dancing shoes and enjoy each other’s company while raising funds for MRG grantmaking.

For the past 15 years, Justice Within Reach has uniquely brought together our grantee community, donor activists, civic leaders and movement-building organizations. As a result, our attendees reflect the racial, economic, and geographic diversity of our community. Through JWR, you will join community organizations and people working for change. By tapping into Oregon’s transformative social justice movement at this event, you will grow your visibility and presence among local philanthropists and community leaders.

We offer varied levels of recognition so that our supporters and donors get to know your business or organization’s work by association. MRG’s community is highly diverse, progressive, and conscientious. Volunteers Make it Happen

MRG needs volunteers to help make our Justice Within Reach event a night to remember. Every day-of-event volunteer will receive a ticket to the dinner and afterparty. No matter what your previous experience or time limits, we have a job for you! Just fill out our volunteer interest form and we will be in touch.
